PART I: Dinelle was here! PART II: perception is confusing!

Dinelle came to visit me this weekend~ ^^
I don't know why, but I think one of my favourite parts of her stay was that we got to wear matching suits on Friday and Saturday. Blue jacket with a white shirt for Metrotown, and black jacket with a red shirt for Davie St. We didn't actually DO much in either place, but she seemed satisfied with the trip regardless.
I'm going to Sakura Con with her in April. Apparently I'm supposed to wear the black/red suit with my fedora, so that I can look more butch than her girlfriend and make her jealous. ^_^;;

Part II! Perception is a confusing thing, as Grace and I discovered in our philisophical conversation this afternoon.

one thing i always wonder about is the perception of color. since i can't explain the color red, it may be possible that your red is a different color than mine, and we'd never know.

exactly! Everyone is taught that this color that THEY see has the name "red". The person learning has no way of knowing if they're seeing "red" the same way as others, but they learn to identify that one shade that they see with the name they were told.

same with sound. It's interesting how our voices always sound different to us on recordings, but no one else sees the difference on anyone but themselves.
