New Suits!!!

Yay, I finally got off my lazy ass and decided to take photos of the suits I bought on Monday! To think that the average businessman spends hundreds of dollars on each suit. I think my most expensive one was less than $40 at Value Village, although most people don't go to work dressed like a charming young British chap from the late 19th century, so that might have something to do with it.

First, we have the new and improved mafia look! When I first started wearing the fedora, the rest of the outfit needed some work; a pinstripe blazer with black jeans and grey sneakers is just not a good idea. However, now I have nothing to fear, for I have the suit of some guy who was 10 times larger than I am! The pants literally fall to my ankles the second I undo my belt. It's quite comical, but a little concerning, so I wear suspenders with them, too (see below).

Next, we have this charming jacket that smells strongly of vintage and reminds me of an old British man. I can't find a hat that goes with this jacket properly yet, so for now, it's a hatless outfit. [cue dramatic music]

Finally, we have my personal favourite, which is apparently a "blue serge suit", according to my Tipping the Velvet novel. I decided a few hours before leaving the house that I wanted an outfit like one that Nan wears in the movie, and by pure coincidence, there was a two piece suit at Value Village that was nearly identical, and by an even bigger coincidence, I found a matching vest on another rack. The only problem with this suit is that the pants are just a liiiittle bit too small for me. XD

So that was all I got at Value Village, but yesterday I went into Liquidators (Vancouver people might know it; it's right next to the Renfrew senior home, by Maquinna Annex) and discovered that they have suits with TAILS for FIFTY DOLLARS. They were all out of black when I went, but when they get it back in stock, I MUST go back. In the meantime, I got these lovely suspenders to keep my giant pants up.

I really need to find a new place for photos that doesn't have that dooming shadow in the background. XD
